12 Elvis Quotes to Celebrate the Day of His Birth

July 27th, 2008
celebrity rumors
Noel Jameson asked:

Who’s ready to get down with some Elvis quotes? After all, we’re celebrating his birthday this month. Why not do it to the beat of The King? Here are 12 great Elvis quotes to remember him by.

1. “I ain’t no saint, but I’ve tried never to do anything that would hurt my family or offend God…I figure all any kid needs is hope and the feeling he or she belongs. If I could do or say anything that would give some kid that feeling, I would believe I had contributed something to the world.”

2. “Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain’t goin’ away.”

3. “I believe in the Bible. I believe that all good things come from God. I don’t believe I’d sing the way I do if God hadn’t wanted me to.”

4. “When I was a child I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was the hero of the comic book. I saw movies, and I was the hero in the movie. So every dream I have ever dreamed has come true a thousand times.”

5. “Adversity is sometimes hard upon a man; but for one man who can stand prosperity, there are a hundred that will stand adversity.”

6. “I don’t think I’m bad for people. If I did think I was bad for people, I would go back to driving a truck, and I really mean this.”

7. “I sure lost my musical direction in Hollywood. My songs were the same conveyor belt mass production, just like most of my movies were.”

8. “I was training to be an electrician. I suppose I got wired the wrong way round somewhere along the line.”

9. “I’ll never make it, it will never happen, because they’re never going to hear me ’cause they’re screaming all the time.”

10. “Rhythm is something you either have or don’t have, but when you have it, you have it all over.”

11. “Whatever I will become will be what God has chosen for me.”

12. “Every time I think that I’m getting old, and gradually going to the grave, something else happens.”

And there you have it — 12 great quotes that give us a glimpse inside the mind of a great. Not press speculation, not decade-old rumors, but quotes directly from the horse’s mouth. For a look at who Elvis truly was, these quotes are a great start. This month let’s take a moment to remember The King with these 12 great Elvis quotes.

Starry Eyed for Stars

July 26th, 2008
celebrity gossip
Karen Magill asked:

Starry Eyed about Stars

Many people of our society do seem to be starry eyed when it comes to celebrities. They want to know everything about them, want to get to close them, be like them and some of us develop unhealthy obsessions with them.

Myspace is one of the online gatherings that allow fans to gain a closer access to celebrities. I have a myspace page - www.myspace.com/thebondbykarenmagill and that time I am writing this I have 191 people on my friend’s list and approximately 25 of them are celebrities. But I know of people that the majority of their friends are celebrities. That may make them feel like they are privileged but I wonder if they realize that all they have done is join fan clubs.

The Internet has opened a whole new world for the voracious public to learn about their favorite celebrity. And a whole new avenue for gossip to flourish. With the advancement in technology and the public’s insatiable thirst for more and more information (or scandal) on their idols, it is getting very difficult for a star to live their lives with any sort of normalcy.

I must admit that I don’t have a lot of sympathy for stars and their hassles with the paparazzi. A lot of celebrities play the paparazzi then cry foul when the cameras don’t go away when they want them to. And if it is such a harrowing experience, quit. Move somewhere, quit making movies or CDs or whatever made you famous, stay out of trouble and guess what? They’ll be forgotten. It’ll be one of those things like ‘whatever happened to…?’ but no one is irreplaceable. The only reason that people like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Dorothy Stratten, James Dean etc. remain in our memories is because they died before their time or died mysteriously and/or dramatically. If a star is still alive but not doing anything, the public will just transfer their attention to someone else. Aren’t I a cynic?

But back to the original point. Take a moment and look at how many celebrity gossip rags there are on the newsstands and how many celebrity news/gossip TV shows are on daily. The public makes stars out of those reporting on the stars themselves. It is crazy and where is going to end? Is it going to end?

Then we have stalkers. Those fans who go over the line. Those that have an obsession with their idol that is dangerous. Actress Rebecca Schaeffer was shot dead in her home by a fan that felt he knew her because he had seen her on television. Steven Spielberg apparently spoke of fears of being killed when a “sexually obsessed” stalker attempted to break into his home. And the list goes on and on of weird people doing strange and dangerous things. Sometimes it makes a person wonder if going into show business is worth it. It truly must be a labor of love considering what a person has to go through.

Confession time. I have my own obsessions. They come and go and I learn what I can about the star, collect their movies or CDs. But I would never consider stalking them or invading their privacy. I can’t afford it. I am a self-published writer so my money goes on promoting my work. But even if I could, why would I?

I don’t think that there is anything wrong with developing crushes on celebrities or wanting to know more about them. As long as you keep it in control. Remember that they have lives too and so should you. Why surround yourself with memorabilia of a TV show or a celebrity? I’ve seen cases where people have actually had plastic surgery to look more like their favorite star. Yuck. Get a life. Or ran up credit cards to buy everything their favorite celebrity has. First of all, how much did that star get free? Secondly, don’t put yourself into debt being something you’re not. Find who you who you are and be happy there. Not to sound to corny but we all have something unique to offer. Celebrities are great to watch and listen to but we have to remember that they are just people. So don’t place them too high on a pedestal because one day they might fall off.

Why People Love Entertainment Celebrity News

July 25th, 2008
celebrity gossip
Groshan Fabiola asked:

There are many reasons why people just love to read about Hollywood celebrities and look at candid photos of their escapades and daily activities, which psychologists have spent considerable time trying to explain. One of the main reasons that people love entertainment celebrity news is for the simple amusement of reading about and viewing photos from famous people’s lives. Many people also feel as if they can identify to one Hollywood celebrity or another, either for their physical attributes or their supposed personal traits.

Another simple explanation for the Hollywood celebrity obsession is the simple diversion of reading celebrity news and looking at their scandalous photos. Sometimes entertainment celebrity news can help depressed people lift their spirits because it allows them to focus on some outer experience that breaks their obsession with themselves. Most people that look at the Hollywood celebrity magazines and online gossip sites aren’t particularly depressed, however, but they do find it enjoyable and diversionary to see images of very attractive and well known stars while breaking from their day-to-day routine activities.

Yet another reason for the obsession with Hollywood celebrities is the esteem build-up that it can provide when the rich and famous slip and fall. When Hollywood celebrities have a messy public life, especially when they are a multi-billion dollar earner with many adoring fans, it makes people feel better. These public humiliations make people that their personal lives are at least more successful, although their professional lives might not be as celebrated and opulent.

Entertainment celebrity news is really a pastime for the general public, whether it’s for the simple diversion, the identification or the personal gratification that it offers. As long as people don’t start confusing celebrity news with the real news, and the celebrities or their families aren’t physically endangered, it should be harmless.

Celebrity Diet Secrets - The Main Celebrity Diet Secret You May Not Know About

July 25th, 2008
celebrity news
Vienna Miller asked:

We see them on magazine covers, in movies, on TV. Their images shimmer and glow.

With their size 0 bodies and cellulite free legs we wonder - how do they do it? What do they know that the rest of us don’t?

Many magazines boast that they reveal celebrity diet secrets. However we’ve heard a lot of it before.

Jennifer Aniston likes the Zone. Gwyneth Paltrow favors a macrobiotic diet.

Carol Alt likes the raw food diet. Carrie Underwood follows a vegetarian diet. And much of the celebrity diet tips are common sense.

Don’t eat after 7 p.m. Have 5-6 small meals a day. Don’t load up on carbs for dinner.

Get plenty of sleep. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. And of course: Cardio, cardio, cardio.

But there is one celebrity diet secret no one usually talks about.

Here’s the thing that sets celebrities apart. Unlike most people - celebrities are a brand. It’s their job to look good.

And they can’t build the brand all by themselves. They know their time is precious and they can’t do it all on their own.

So they hire experts in their fields to help them build their brand. They have people to do their hair, makeup artists to do their makeup, publicists to advertise them and stylists to dress them.

And when it comes to food, most stars hires experts to cook for them also. Sometimes it’s a personal chef - but other times it’s a diet delivery service.

This delivery service prepares their food for them and then all they do is eat it. Having their food prepared for them helps them to stay their svelte, beautiful selves.

Are they on to something? Probably.

In fact, in a recent study done by Brown University, people attempting to lose weight by eating prepared meals lost an average of 31% more weight than those who prepared their own meals. Having help makes losing weight easier (and sometimes even faster) than if you do it on your own.

Diet delivery is now catching on to the mainstream in a big way. People are realizing how much easier it is to lose weight by having your meals prepared for you.

And it’s much more affordable than it used to be - with most plans under $20 a day. This is actually less than many people are already spending on food so it could even save you money.

And the variety of meal plans to choose from is growing. You can get low fat plans, low carb plans, Zone-compliant meals, vegetarian meals and even gourmet, restaurant quality meals.

So the main celebrity diet secret that most people don’t talk about is that celebrities have help. They hire experts to help them stay slim and eat well. And it’s obviously working.

The good news is that anyone can now afford to get that same expert help and lose weight just the like the stars do - with diet home delivery. There are several diet delivery services that not only serve the stars - but they also offer their services to the general public.

So if you’re looking for an easier way to lose weight - why not do the same things celebrities do? Get your meals prepared for you. It’s easier, will save you time and can make losing weight a lot more enjoyable.

July 24th, 2008
celebrity gossip
Miles Rodriguez asked:

We’ve seen a lot of scandals, we’ve seen a lot of mishaps in Hollywood now here comes the joyful part. Since the beginning of the year 2007 there is a lot of gossips speculating the pregnancies of celebrity sweethearts of the big screen. Tom Cruise got married to the very beautiful Katie Holmes then came Suri their very cute little girl! Then in a matter of months another Hollywood Couple celebrated as the Brangelina baby fever crosses borders not just in Hollywood but in other continents as well. As of now we all now that mommies are getting alive as they give new birth to future movie and television icons. As a matter of fact babies form Angelina Jolie and Katie Holmes were now considered hottest commodities as their pictures became a hot item for paparazzi. Anyway the topic is not just the birth of these cutties but also for the responsible parenthood of these shining individuals, they may seem to allure the limelight of their popularity but they must also take a step forward for the serious business they have to face for the benefit if their newborns.

As far as popularity is involved the measurement of stardom reflects on the centerpiece of their relationships, its really a tough responsibility getting your kids grow on the shades of your Hollywood fame. Well lets have an example of good parenting and love for kids. Couples like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been doing charitable works by adopting kids with different nationalities and that’s what makes them popular among Hollywood fans. On the contrary Britney has the worst parenting guidelines as she lost control of her sanity but also the custody of her cute little babies form K-fed! That is just an example of out if her mind mommy, anyway the red carpet premiere of new mommies have finally rolled out on the big screen of Hollywood news and gossips, and the last addition to the list of hot mommies is Fantastic Four’s Jessica Alba. Wow this is a new that continues to shine as her baby moments come alive with her first born child to Cash Warren, I think everything went well for her lucky guy Cash Warren hope this couple will do big time too as cameras and paparazzi comes to hunt pictures of their kid.

“The Brangelina Fever” isn’t over yet! As the famous Tomb Raider star is expecting twins this time. Rumors said that Brangelina has decided a close watch on the babies not allowing media to flash any information that would ruin their private life , the couple resorted to Namibia as media hype continues to follow Angelina Jolie and her future child, anyway that was the story of their first born baby girl, and to follow the most anticipated birth after Jesus Christ Brad and Angelina goes to France for a permanent vacation as their brood continues expanding with mixed racial kids. Now if you’re wondering why they chose to live in their 35 million pound chateau, ironically is for privacy purposes the couple decided to splash a multi million dollar home in France all because the country has strict laws for privacy, sorry paparazzi your gate is closed for the Brangelina baby pack up your bags and get out!
